He Is Human, After All...

I haven’t seen too much mainstream media coverage of Obama’s latest presidential gaffe, but apparently the President mistakenly referred to the native language of Austria as Austrian when it is actually German. The misstep occurred during a news conference, when asked by a European reporter what the President learned from European leaders during his recent trip. Obama’s response:

It's an interesting question. I had already formed relationships with many of them. ... There's a lot of -- I don't know what the term is in Austrian -- wheeling and dealing -- and, you know, people are pursuing their interests, and everybody has their own particular issues and their own particular politics.

I suppose it could have been worse…

Are we keeping score yet, the number of Bush screw ups vs. Obama's or is that something we just keep quiet? Maybe I'll send Keith Olbermann an email and ask him.

graworob - the issue is not that he makes a gaffe. Lord knows none of us would survive the test of being without flaw with constant multi-camera multi-angle coverage of our every move and word. the point being made is that unlike coverage of our previous president, the coverage of this one seems to omit such gaffes. frankly, i would like to see such omissions for all presidents. yeah, that'll happen.

I was just happy to be able to reference a clip of one of the funniest movies of the 90s. But I agree, it's an honest mistake and he's certainly entitled to them (as was his predecessor).
